[glow=red,2,300] Half-Life 2 Too Hard[/glow] Kids today are some weak-ass snivelling little punks.Due to gamers' complaints, Valve changed up Half-Life 2 Episode One. Gamers were all: "Wahhh...Your game is too hard for me. I'm afraid I'll soil my panties. Please make it easier while I wipe my tears on my mom's apron. Wahhhh!" So Valve turned on the easy hose by releasing a patch that adds extra ammo and health and takes out some zombies. Robotron was pretty hard back in the day, but you didn't see us crying about it, plus you couldn't even play it without quarters. Told you I was hardcore. [glow=red,2,300] Gabe Newell Unveils Huge Half-Life News (PC)[/glow] Team Fortress 2 to be packaged with Half-Life 2: Episode 2 along with more goodies.By Li C. Kuo | July 13, 2006 Valve Software's golden boy, Gabe Newell, made a surprise appearance at today's Electronic Arts Summer Showcase at Redwood Shores. Perhaps the one revelation that hit harder than all the rest was that the long-awaited Team Fortress 2 will be included with Half-Life 2: Episode 2 later this year. A trailer of the game was shown at the convention. From what we saw we can tell you that most, if not all of the classic character classes you know and love are back. The game also sports a new art style that's drastically different from Counter-Strike: Source or Day of Defeat: Source. Rather than going for a gritty, realistic look, the characters have a more cartoonish, flat-shaded look, comparable to the way Pixar's The Incredibles looks. Another huge revelation made by Newell is the announcement of Portal, a stand-alone single-player game that takes place in the Half-Life universe. This new game revolves around a hero with a special "portal" gun that opens up -- what else -- portals, anywhere you want. These portals look just like the ones seen in Prey and having control over them opens up all sorts of new gameplay puzzles and challenges. We don't know who the main character in the game is and we don't know exactly how the storyline will be relate to the Half-Life storyline. What we do know is that Portal will also ship with Half-Life 2: Episode 2. Newell also touched on some new enhancements that will be featured in Half-Life 2: Episode 2. One of these is something Valve is calling "Cinematic Physics." The idea behind this is to give players the opportunity to experience in-game physics in action on a grander scale. As an example of Cinematic Physics in action, a clip from HL2: Episode 2 was shown of a huge bridge collapsing across a vast ravine. A new graphical enhancement called "soft particle systems" will also make a debut with HL2: Episode 2. pc.gamespy.com/pc/half-life-2-episode-two/718526p1.html

Great, now I feel like an old fart.

I'd have to disagree, to an extent. Thanks to the advancements we've made, children are getting better and more quickly addicted to more intense gameplay. I feel like an old fart remembering my days of defeated grainy pixeled Robotnic or Bowser on the old school consoles and thinking THAT was hard! Ah, little do I know a five year old now can do what I did then way more skillfully now and in half the time! And then take on a boss from God of War just to rub it in!

Man, I am not that old. But I love old difficult games. They are the best. Pac Man at the arcades is the best. -NicK-
