I have played Kingdom Hearts II for the Playstation II and will now share my thoughts.
Gameplay: 9/10. The quirky, fun, puzzling mini-games and puzzles that everybody loves are back, but the worlds got shorter and less fun to play.
Controls: 8/10. You still have to mash the X button a lot, but at least we have some relief from the camera, which was remapped to the R3 stick. Reaction Commands were beautiful..
Music: 10/10. Whether you're hearing the remade music of Disney or the powerful One Winged Angel, the music of Kingdom Hearts has once again done a powerful job. Plus, Utada Hikaru has done an excellent job with Sanctuary, the theme song of Kingdom Hearts II.
Voice Acting: 8/10. Square made a mistake with "Ansem", Aeris, and Cid this time around. But it was made up for by the powerful voice of DiZ and Xemnas, and also the voices of Sora, Kairi, Riku. Even Jesse McCartney did a good job with Roxas.
Graphics: 8/10. Lip synching was off a little, and some of the characters had flat faces and mouths, but other then that the graphics were terrific. Beautiful secret ending, opening, and ending, with good graphics in between.
Story: 10/10. Once again, Kingdom Hearts has instilled a story in us that is worthy of a Final Fantasy. The story has a few extreme plot twists, but the story is very well put together, and the cutscene after the first part of the final boss was wonderful.
Overall, Kingdom Hearts has done a better job then before. They have a wonderful cast, a great graphics team, a beautiful storyline, heart stopping music, a camera that works with you instead of against you, and a fun new battle system.
Final Score: 9/10
Rent or Buy: Buy (you won't have time to do almost anything if you rent it)
